Cast-Iron skillets are great for all sorts of things, but it’s not very often that I bake desserts in mine. This giant cookie is the perfect treat to put your cast-iron skillet to good use, since cast-iron distributes heat so evenly you’ll end up with a perfectly baked cookie. None of that dreaded dark-around-the-edges and raw-in-the-middle fiasco that we have all experienced.
This Cast-Iron Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is a classic chocolate chip cookie that you can enjoy by the slice. You can serve it as-is with a glass of milk, or decorate it with some icing for a special occasion (like the cookie bakeries at the mall), OR top a big slice of cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and hot fudge. Chocolate chip cookie sundaes are genius, and the perfect treat for the birthday or special celebration for someone who doesn’t love cake (who doesn’t love cake though?).
