This pretty much sums up my goals for the year ahead. It has been one of my favorite verses ever since I learned it as a freckle-faced little girl listening to Adventures in Odyssey on cassette tape every night in my rosey pink bedroom before I went to sleep. It seems so simple, yet eludes so many of us so often. I want to live this year deliberately. I hope and pray that I make the most of the time I am granted here on earth, and that I would obediently follow the plans that God has chosen for me.
On a lighter note, I've got some more goals.
Michael and I have had the ritual of starting each new year with brand new socks. We get rid of all of our old, mismatched socks and buy all new socks. Seems like a strange tradition, but believe me, it is nice to start the year out with fresh, happy feet. :)
I want to play tourist in my own city and state. I spent last year seeing various parts of the world, now I'm home and I want to see Michigan the way a visitor would.
I hope to be able to earn a steady income working from home.
I will master the art of cooking duck. Or at least come close.
I need to make a croquembouche. I hope it doesn't collapse...
Most of all, I want to live a little more simply. Fewer things. Not so much fuss and worry and whatnot. Just living life and being the best wife I can be.
Happy New Year, Friends! Best wishes for a lovely 2015.
