Lorrie from View From My Kitchen Window was sweet enough to nominate me for the Oh So Fabulous award! How fun is that? You all should check out her blog. She cooks, bakes, and GARDENS! My feeble first attempt at gardening this year was a cute and tiny little herb garden that was lovely while it lasted, then the combination of a terribly hot/dry week and us being gone on vacation meant for an untimely demise of my precious little herb buddies. My laundry room window is decidedly less inspiring now. You should see her gorgeous view from her window, I mean really…I would never want to leave! (Reality check: My kitchen window looks into my dining room…)
Here are my answers to Lorrie’s questions:
What meal would you like to have cooked for Julia Child?
Oh dear. That is a tough one! I would be less nervous to cook for the Queen. Seriously. I suppose I would make her own recipe for Beouf Bourgignon since it was the first recipe of hers that I ever made, and hopefully she would want to cook along with me and maybe give me some lessons and tell me great stories about France. I feel like we would be great friends. Simone Beck and Louisette Bertholle can come too. :)
What country would you most like to lose your passport in?
I suppose I should be careful what I wish for, but at the moment I am totally in love with Italy and I haven’t even stepped foot there yet. My darling Hubby and I will be moving there in the coming months and spending 9-12 months there. I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be in my glory and not want to come home… However if I don’t hurry up and get better at speaking Italian, I may not be the picture of a perfect expat trying to immerse herself in the culture.
How much time have you spent on Pinterest (or Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc) today?
I spent my lunch hour on Pinterest today, and maybe another 20 minutes on Facebook and WordPress since then. (Only because when I got home from work I had to mop the floors and fold laundry.)
Five foods you’d NEVER want to have to live without?
CHEESE!, bread, chocolate, strawberries, potatoes
You’d rather clean a football team’s locker room after a double-overtime game in the mud than ________?
I would rather clean up after a football team than cut a wedding cake that I had just made. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s so morbid and disheartening to have to destroy something you’ve been going to great lengths to avoid it from meeting any harm. If my Hubby ever gets a gray hair it will be from being in the car with me during a cake delivery. It’s intense, not going to lie. :) FYI: Summer construction in Michigan makes for a very disappointing time of year to drive a delicate dessert across town… You may end up rebuilding it in the back of your Jeep in a gas station parking lot. Not that I speak from experience or anything…
