Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 1/4 cups whole wheat or all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2-3 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan, or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugars together until light. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until just combined. Add chocolate chips and mix until just combined.
  6. Spread in prepared baking pan and bake for 28-33 minutes until golden brown.
