Homemade Cherry Pie Filling

  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn starch

Instructions

  1. Add cherries to a medium saucepan over medium heat, covered, until simmering and juices have released, stirring frequently.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar and corn starch. Add to cherries and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer over low heat, stirring frequently until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Let cool, and use in place of canned pie filling.
