Homemade Jellied Cranberry Sauce

  • Yield: About 2 1/2 cups 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pound fresh cranberries
  • cans or other vessel

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the apple cider, honey, ginger, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add cranberries to the pan and raise heat to medium. Bring to a boil and set timer for 15 minutes, stirring periodically. (Do not boil more than 15 minutes or the pectin in the fruit will break down and sauce may not set properly.)
  3. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Spoon sauce into cans or other desired vessel. Refrigerate 4 hours (or overnight).
  5. When ready to serve, turn can upside down over a serving plate (run a paring knife around the sides if necessary to loosen the sauce). Slice and serve.
