Thankful Things and Happy News

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It's got something to do with the fantastic amount of food, of course, but also about being able to spend a fun, stress-free day with family. My family is pretty awesome when it comes to thanksgiving. It's our day to be a little bit more rowdy than the rest of the year, we all spend the day up north at our cabin doing outdoorsy activities and eating until we all collapse. It's bliss. I cannot wait for everyone to arrive!

There are a lot of things I'm thankful for, but this year in particular a few things are over-the-top on the blessing scale.

1. Family and friends who "get it". Those people who know how to be there for you in times of tremendous grief and complete sadness. I lost a brother and a baby this year, and it was brutal. In reality, the things that made the biggest impact on me while grieving our losses were really just the random texts asking how we were doing, and above all, just acknowledging the grief was of immeasurable comfort. People don't know what to say, so often it seems best to say nothing. Please, say something. Say anything. People don't know you care if you don't speak up.
2. A husband who has been a friend to me for my entire life, and knows exactly how to be the person I need no matter what our journey holds. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary next week, and I can hardly believe how the time has flown by. It is so much fun doing life with him.
3. I'm super thankful that we have good news to share! We are expecting a baby, and so far baby is growing perfectly! I'm also thankful that I'm feeling better and my appetite is getting much better, which means back to a more regular blogging schedule very soon! (Which reminds me, I'm also thankful to be "eating for two" this Thanksgiving!)
