Cranberry juice + Ginger Syrup + Cointreau + Gin + Vernors = My new favorite holiday drink. Bright flavors, not too sweet, not too tart, with just the right hit of spice from the ginger makes this a fantastic and festive cocktail for your holidays.

Vernors is essential.
Being from Michigan, I am VERY loyal to my Vernors being the ginger ale of choice in my life, so I feel compelled to warn you: do not substitute any other ginger ale in its place unless you absolutely must, and in that case, you may want to add a splash more ginger syrup to make up for it. If you haven't had Vernors before, you might think all ginger sodas are the same but truly Vernors has SO MUCH more prominent ginger flavor and superior bubbles than any others I've ever tasted. Trust me. You'll need about 6 ounces of Vernors per serving, so 1 can per two people is perfect. (P.S. This is not sponsored in any way. I just love Vernors!)

Syrup made from fresh ginger...
Making a ginger infused simple syrup is a worthwhile endeavor, in my opinion. It keeps really well in the fridge so you'll have it on hand all holiday season long. It's also amazing in iced tea, hot tea, lemonade, or drizzled on ice cream. All you'll need is fresh ginger, sugar, and water.

Merry & Bright.
Unsweetened cranberry juice brings a vibrant tartness that is accented beautifully by the orange flavor from the Cointreau. It's a festive and perfect pairing. Add in the dry gin (Beefeater or Tanqueray are widely available and work well, or choose something from a local distillery) and you've got yourself a well-rounded cocktail that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
