Ready in 5 minutes, this Smoked Salmon Dip is a definite crowd-pleaser. Creamy, herb-studded, slightly smoky, perfectly balanced flavors pair beautifully with crispy crackers. Perfect for game day, a picnic, or a random Tuesday lunch.
Which smoked salmon is best?
There are two methods for smoking salmon: Cold smoked and hot smoked. As a general rule, I prefer hot smoked, and this recipe for smoked salmon dip is no exception. You can read a bit more about the differences in the two smoking methods in this article from Bon Appetit. You can also make your own smoked salmon at home quite easily.
How to make Smoked Salmon Dip
- First, let the cream cheese soften up a bit on the counter. This will help it blend so much more easily than if it was cold.
- Next, you will beat the cream cheese in the mixer until it is completely smooth and creamy, with no lumps.
- Then you add all of the remaining ingredients, except the salmon, and beat until thoroughly combined and very smooth.
- Lastly, stir in the salmon by hand, then taste and adjust the seasonings to suit your preferences.
- Serve immediately, or even better- refrigerate at least 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
